Whether you've lived in Burleson for years or you're thinking about moving here, Old Town is the heart of the city. Here's a quick guide to what makes it worth a visit.

Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza

Located at 141 W Renfro St., the plaza is Old Town's gathering spot. It hosts community events throughout the year, including the farmers market and Burleson's biggest holiday celebration, BTX-MAS, which is coming up on Saturday, December 5 this year.

Local shops and restaurants

Old Town's walkable streets are lined with locally owned boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants and gathering spots. It's a great place to spend a Saturday morning or meet friends for dinner, and new businesses open regularly.

Russell Farm Art Center

A short drive from Old Town at 405 W County Road 714, the Russell Farm Art Center is a historic farmstead that hosts art programs, community events and seasonal celebrations like Nights of Lights in December.

Burleson Public Library

At 248 SW Johnson Ave., the library offers programs for all ages and seasonal events throughout the year.

Stay in the loop

The City of Burleson posts upcoming events on its calendar at burlesontx.com. I'll also be sharing local events here on the blog every Friday.
